Information on the former Myrtle Desk Co. (High Point, North Carolina) furniture are made of solid wood or veneer?

I have to sell a crop Myrtle mahogany credenza. I said it is solid wood. Another source said it was sheet metal. How I can check?

Look at the top. If the top has a design to it – that is, the wood appears to be a pattern, 99 chances out of 100 said to be plated. I would be very surprised if it was solid mahogany. The drawer faces, top edges, etc can be solid wood, but it is likely that the balance sheet channel is over engineered wood. NOTE: This does NOT mean that is cheap. Go look at what Baker, Provincial Artisans, Maitland-Smith and Bevan Funnell applies on eBay … all plywood.
